As more seniors are becoming frustrated with traditional health care for one reason or another, many are turning their efforts towards nature’s remedies. The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) shows that more people are using alternative therapies to treat pain. As a matter of fact, 38% of American adults are using some form of holistic medicine, vitamin supplement or alternative therapy and collectively spending billion on it each year.

“I think people in general are more aware of the possible side effects of prescription medication and I find that people are looking to feel good as they age and do not want to be on a long list of medications,” says Naturopathic Physician Dr. Laura Futterman.  ”They want a better quality of life.”
